I experienced this years ago when living in Cascade Canyon in Fairfax. I came home to find a fawn curled up under my dining room window. It occasionally bleeted but stayed where it was. My landlady and a neighbor were already alarmed to hear and see it alone. I looked online and quickly determined it was probably fine and had been left there to stay safe until Mama doe could return from feeding. Sure enough, at late afternoon Mama returned and the fawn got up and followed her up the street. I was glad I didn’t do anything to endanger the fawn.
